Promptwatch is an AI visibility platform run by Promptwatch B.V. in Amsterdam. It tracks how often ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and other models mention a brand, and its content agents write articles based on the sources those models cite. Plans start at $95 (€85) a month for 50 prompts and one user seat, and content agents begin at $245 (€205), as of 26 October 2026.

A note on where we stand: Alexandrya.AI is our own product, and we have not used Promptwatch ourselves. This review is based on the features and prices Promptwatch publishes on its homepage and pricing page, accessed on 26 October 2026. Where the vendor leaves a question open, we say so.

Who is behind Promptwatch and where does the data come from?

Promptwatch is a generative engine optimisation tool that measures a brand's mentions, citations and share of voice in AI answers and then produces content from that data. According to its own FAQ, Promptwatch collects answers by scraping the chat interfaces people use every day. That keeps the measurement close to what users actually see. The company has offices in Amsterdam and New York.

On its pricing page, Promptwatch cites more than 1,780 brands and agencies as customers and a rating of 4.7 out of 5 on G2. Both figures come from the vendor.

How much does Promptwatch cost? Plans and quotas

Promptwatch costs $95, $245 or $579 a month for brands, or €85, €205 and €499 when you switch the pricing page to euros. Annual billing charges ten monthly fees, so Essential costs $950 (€850) a year. The plans differ in prompts, projects, user seats, and whether content agents, crawler logs and shopping data are included. Enterprise pricing is custom (as of 26 October 2026).

Two rows stand out. Seats are tight, and a team made up of SEO, content and an agency partner will run out of room on the mid plan's two seats.

The Business plan cannot be trialled on your own, because its button leads to a demo booking.

Agencies get separate plans: Kick-off at $199 (€170), Growth at $399 (€343) and Scale at $799 (€685) a month. Each includes unlimited projects, pitch projects and prompts, ten user seats and 10,000, 25,000 or 65,000 responses a month. On the agency side, AEO articles are only listed for Enterprise.

Which AI models does Promptwatch track?

Promptwatch advertises "Track all models" on every plan and lists 14 platforms on its pricing page: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Meta Llama, DeepSeek, Mistral, Amazon Alexa, Codex, OpenCode and Claude Code. Grok appears in the FAQ as well. The FAQ says every prompt runs across all supported models at once (as of 26 October 2026).

The response quotas tell a narrower story. Essential includes 6,000 responses a month for 50 prompts, which works out at 120 responses per prompt per month. With daily tracking over 30 days, that leaves four responses per prompt per day. The ratio is exactly the same on Professional, with 18,000 responses for 150 prompts, and on Business, with 42,000 responses for 350 prompts, so all three plans are sized for four responses per prompt per day. Running 14 platforms daily would take 21,000 responses a month on the entry plan alone. The calculation is ours. The pricing page does not explain how responses are split across platforms, whether some models are queried less often, or whether you choose the mix yourself.

Before you sign, ask in writing which models run daily on your quota and what happens when the response allowance runs out before the end of the month. If you need ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity every day, four responses per prompt is exactly enough. If Claude or Copilot also matter to you daily, get that commitment before the contract starts.

Promptwatch content agents start at $245

Promptwatch's content agents write new articles and refresh existing pages based on the sources AI models cite in their answers. Professional includes five AEO articles and five content refreshes a month, and Business includes ten of each. A knowledge base with 100 or 150 entries gives the agents brand-specific context. Essential only includes Agent Chat.

Business adds what Promptwatch calls Agentic AI Search Optimization, described as planning, drafting, reviewing and publishing AI-ready content on a managed schedule. Publishing runs through the WordPress, Webflow and Framer integrations.

The homepage shows two more features. A fact check flags claims that AI models get wrong about your products or prices, together with the source the wrong claim came from. A task board with In Progress and Done columns splits work between your team and AI agents, so Promptwatch also manages tasks inside the tool.

API and MCP come with every Promptwatch plan

Promptwatch includes API and MCP access on every plan, including the $95 entry plan. The MCP server is hosted and you connect through a URL, signing in with OAuth or an API key. According to the integration page, access covers reading and writing: an assistant can create prompts, tags, topics and personas, generate content and publish it to a connected CMS. Read-only keys switch the write tools off.

Promptwatch names Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable and OpenAI Codex as clients and offers a separate ChatGPT plugin. The MCP integration page does not list rate limits for the API or MCP (accessed 26 October 2026). For a side-by-side view of how other vendors handle this, see our overview of AI visibility tools with API and MCP.

Where Promptwatch is strong

Promptwatch is strongest when you want measurement and writing in one tool. Based on its public documentation, five things set it apart:

  • MCP and API from $95 a month, and the MCP server can write as well as read
  • Content agents that turn citation data into articles and publish them to WordPress, Webflow or Framer
  • Crawler logs from Professional upwards, showing when bots from ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity visit your pages
  • Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and Slack integrations on every plan
  • Shopping insights and state and city level tracking on Business

Where Promptwatch reaches its limits

Promptwatch caps user seats at one, two or five depending on the plan, and its content agents only start at $245 a month. On the $95 entry plan you get tracking, Agent Chat and the APIs, but no articles, no crawler logs and no Looker Studio connection. The $579 Business plan is only available through a demo call (as of 26 October 2026).

For teams in the EU, ask during the demo whether a data processing agreement is available and where the data is stored, because the pricing page does not say.

Promptwatch vs Alexandrya.AI: content agents or an action plan

Promptwatch and Alexandrya.AI both measure AI visibility but take different routes to getting work done. Promptwatch lets content agents write and publish articles. Alexandrya.AI builds an action plan of content briefs, outreach targets and quick wins, which your team turns into tasks marked Open, In Progress or Done. Your team writes the content itself.

Alexandrya.AI is an AI visibility tool from Munich that measures brand mentions in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Bing Copilot and turns them into content and citation tasks.

The table shows two different profiles. Promptwatch gives you more technical data and more automation per euro at entry level. Alexandrya.AI costs a little less on every plan, has no seat limit and is built around tasks that people complete.

Comparison matrix of Promptwatch and Alexandrya.AI plans by monthly price, prompts, users and how work gets done

Promptwatch and Alexandrya.AI plans compared, vendor pricing pages, as of 26 October 2026.

Our own project shows what the action plan looks like. In Alexandrya.AI's own measurement (as of 21 October 2026, 38 tracked prompts), the brand was mentioned in 7 of 38 prompts and ranked first in the source list in 3 of 38. Among the most cited sources in the action plan was technologyadvice.com, with 872 citations and an average source position of 2.21. Domains like this go into the pitch list as outreach targets, and each entry becomes a task with an owner.

What Alexandrya.AI does not do: it does not write articles, does not analyse crawler logs, does not track products at SKU level, has no alerts and no Slack connection, and API access is only available on Enterprise. If you need any of these, Promptwatch is the better fit. All plans are on our pricing page, and the MCP server is explained on the MCP page.

Cost per prompt on Promptwatch and Alexandrya.AI

A tracked prompt costs between €1.37 and €1.70 a month on Promptwatch and between €1.14 and €1.58 on Alexandrya.AI. The figure is the monthly list price in euros divided by the prompts included. Alexandrya.AI Business is the cheapest at €399 for 350 prompts, and Promptwatch Essential the most expensive at €85 for 50 prompts (as of 26 October 2026).

On Promptwatch, the price per prompt rises again from the mid plan to Business, because Business adds shopping data, city level tracking and managed content production. Factor in seats too: if five people need access, Business is the only Promptwatch plan that fits.

Is Promptwatch worth it?

Promptwatch is worth it for teams that want to track AI visibility and have the tool write and publish the matching content. It suits you if crawler logs, Search Console and Slack should sit in one place, or if you want an assistant to create prompts and content through MCP. It is a poor fit when more than five people need access.
