AI visibility score

Your dashboard says 34. Now what?

A visibility score tells you something is wrong. It does not tell you why, or what to fix first. Alexandrya.AI shows both: the path from mention to citation to recommendation, and the action that moves the most at your stage.

Why you need this now

The shortlist is built inside AI. No longer on page one of Google.

  • 25%

of search volume will run through AI chatbots and LLMs instead of classic search engines by 2026.

    Gartner

  • 80%

of users rely on AI answers for at least 40% of their searches. Whoever gets recommended there gets the inquiry.

    Bain & Company, February 2025

  • 5 to 10%

of the content in AI answers comes from the brand’s own website. The rest comes from third-party sources.

    McKinsey & Company, October 2025

  • +340%

more AI visibility for thyssenkrupp Schulte in 6 months with Alexandrya.AI.

    Client project

If your brand is not named in transactional questions like “Which supplier is best for …?”, it is practically invisible to that lead. In that buying decision it simply does not exist.

Classic SEO tools show rankings and clicks, not what ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude say about you. Alexandrya.AI measures exactly that.

A typical example

The buyer asks the AI. Others get named.

Alexandrya.AI measures exactly these answers every day: which models leave your brand out, who gets recommended instead and which sources sit behind it. The dashboard shows how that changes over time.

Example · prompt to ChatGPT

“Which supplier would you recommend for a mid-sized industrial manufacturer?”

  • Competitor A · named in position 1
  • Competitor B · named in position 2
  • Your brand · mentioned, but not recommended

The problem with a single number

Why a score on its own steers nothing

A score compresses hundreds of answers into one number. That is useful for the board report and useless for deciding what to do on Monday morning.

It blends three stages into one number

Being mentioned, being cited and being recommended are three different things with three different remedies. A score throws them together.

It shows the state, not the cause

The same 34 can mean no sources, outdated sources or the wrong prompts. You cannot read that out of the number alone.

It does not weight by buying intent

Being named in a definition question is not the same as being recommended in a buying situation. Revenue only follows the second one.

It says nothing about competitors

Who appears in the answers you are missing from is the genuinely actionable information. It is not in the score.

The visibility funnel

From mention to recommendation

Visibility in AI answers is not a state, it is a chain. Every stage has its own drop-off and its own remedy. The score only measures the first one.

From score to recommendation · sample measurement of one brand

  1. Relevant prompts

    480

Questions in which your category appears at all. This is the reachable market.

This is where it is lost
  2. Brand is mentioned

    34%

The number your dashboard reports as the score. This is where most tools stop.

This is where it is lost
  3. Your source is cited

    12%

The AI links your page as evidence. Only here does traffic come back.

This is where it is lost
  4. Recommended as first choice

    5%

You are named first in the answer. This is the stage that moves revenue.

Between "mentioned" and "recommended" there are 29 percentage points. That gap is not a metric, it is a task list, and it is the reason a score on its own steers nothing.

Diagnosis, not a metric

The same number, three different jobs

Before you optimise anything, you need to know which of the three cases applies to you. Otherwise you rewrite your own website while the actual problem sits in a directory entry from 2023.

The same 34, three completely different causes

Case A

The sources are missing

Your brand appears nowhere the AI looks. No review, no directory, no trade article.

Action: build third-party sources, do not rewrite your own page.

Case B

The sources are out of date

You are cited, but with yesterday’s data: an old price, a discontinued product, the wrong category.

Action: correct the cited sources, in order of their influence.

Case C

The question does not fit

You are mentioned, but only in prompts without buying intent. In the buying situation someone else is named.

Action: deliberately claim the prompts closest to purchase.

A score tells you that something is wrong. Which of the three cases applies only comes out of the answers behind it, and each one calls for a different action.

The classification comes out of the collected answers and their sources, not out of an estimate.

    Separate the stages

Alexandrya.AI measures across 7 platforms whether you are mentioned, cited or recommended, each stage separately.

  3. 03

    Fix the highest break point

Who is behind this

Why we built Alexandrya.AI

Since 2015 our agency NX Digital has been making companies visible in Google search, among them ZEISS, Thalia, ThyssenKrupp, BMW and SKY. Since 2020 we have been building our own analysis engine that pulls content and competitive insight out of large data sets.

Then came ChatGPT, Perplexity and the AI Overviews, and with them a question no SEO tool could answer: what is the AI actually saying about our clients, and who is it recommending instead? So we pointed our engine at exactly that. Since 2025 Alexandrya.AI has been a product in its own right.

Every recommendation in the tool comes out of the same consulting practice we have run since 2015. We do not just want to show you that you are invisible. We want to show you what to do about it.

A personal note

A word from the founder

“The most common question in our meetings is not "how high is my score?" but "what do I do with the number?". A 34 is not a result, it is the start of a diagnosis. That is exactly why we built the funnel into the tool: so you can see which stage breaks.”

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the AI visibility score

What is an AI visibility score?

An AI visibility score compresses into a single number how present a brand is in the answers of AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity or the Google AI Overviews. Usually it represents the share of queried prompts in which the brand is mentioned. It is a summary, not a diagnosis: it tells you how visible you are, not why.

Is a score of 34 good or bad?

Without context there is no answer, and that is exactly the problem with the number. Three things decide it: which prompts you are mentioned in (definition questions or buying situations), who appears in the same answers, and whether your own source is cited. A 34 built entirely from purchase-intent prompts is worth more than a 70 from pure definition questions.

What is the difference between mentioned, cited and recommended?

Mentioned means your brand name appears in the answer. Cited means the AI additionally points to one of your pages as evidence. Only here does traffic come back. Recommended means you are named first when someone asks for a recommendation. The three stages have different causes and need different remedies.

How do I improve my AI visibility score?

Through diagnosis first, not through guesswork. If sources are missing, presence in third-party sources has to be built: trade articles, directories, reviews, forums. If sources are outdated, the cited entries are corrected in order of their influence. If the prompts do not fit, the purchase-intent questions are claimed deliberately. Alexandrya.AI classifies your case and prioritises the actions accordingly.

How often is it measured?

Daily. AI answers fluctuate from day to day, so a single measurement is a snapshot. Only the time series shows whether an action worked or whether the model simply phrased things differently that day.

Which platforms feed into the score?

Among others ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Claude. Values are reported per platform, because the same brand can stand very differently on different platforms.

How quickly do I see first results?

The first measurement runs right after you add your brand, and you see the analysis within minutes. For a reliable trend you need a few days. That is what the 7 free days are for.

Is this GDPR-compliant?

Yes. Only publicly accessible AI answers to the prompts you define are collected. No personal data of end users is collected, and all data is processed in line with the GDPR. The provider is NX Digital GmbH, based in Munich, Germany.
